Defenseman
Born: June 2, 1951 - Winchester, Ontario

Stanley Cups: 6
Conn Smythe Trophy (1978)
Norris Trophy (1977, 1980)

Inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1995

No. 19 was retired on November 19, 2007.

He was big. He was mean. He was talented. He was a winner. Larry Robinson anchored the Canadiens' blue line for 17 dominant seasons and left a mark on the team record book and on his opponents likely still smarting from one of his trademark hits.

Seeing his No. 19 get raised to the Bell Centre rafters is the final step for Robinson, who helped bring six Stanley Cups to Montreal, including four straight from 1976 though 1979. The owner of numerous team records including most goals, assists, points and games played by a Habs defenseman, Robinson's name is synonymous with success.

He also boasts a league-record that won't soon be broken. Over the course of his brilliant 20-year NHL career, which ended with a three-year stint with the L.A. Kings, Robinson never once missed the playoffs.

In addition to his six Stanley Cup rings, Robinson's trophy case is a full one. A two-time Norris Trophy winner as the league's top defenseman, Robinson also won the Conn Smythe Trophy in the spring of 1978 when he led the league in postseason scoring to earn playoff MVP honors.

Whether he was dishing out a big hit, launching the NHL's most feared attack or scoring a big goal himself, Robinson was impossible to miss each time he stepped on the ice.
