Canadiens @ Senators (Preseason game #3)
After a day off on Thursday, the Canadiens head to Ottawa for their first road trip of the preseason to take on the Senators.
Carey Price and
Nathan Lawson will share the load between the pipes in the nation’s capital after splitting the team’s first preseason game against the Stars on Tuesday night. A familiar face will be awaiting Price at the other end of the ice at Scotiabank Place, as former creasemate Alex Auld will see time in the Senators net after signing in Ottawa this summer.
Scott Gomez will return to action after missing the first two games of the preseason with a lower body injury. He will be joined by fellow veterans
Hal Gill,
Mathieu Darche,
Max Pacioretty,
Andrei Kostitsyn,
Yannick Weber,
P.K. Subban and
Erik Cole.
Brendan Gallagher will look to build on his strong performance in Wednesday night’s game against the Sabres when he notched his first point of the preseason, assisting on Subban’s second-period goal. After combining for 11 hits in Tuesday’s opening tilt,
Michael Blunden and
Alexei Yemelin will once again be looking to bring some sandpaper to the lineup on Friday night.
Daniel Alfredsson and Jason Spezza headline a list of veterans who will face off against Montreal, both of whom will be getting their first starts of the preseason on Friday night.
