#1 - Guy Lafleur (#1 – 1971)
      #12 - Saku Koivu (#21 – 1993)
By picking up Guy Lafleur in the 1971 draft, the Habs knew what they were getting. The Flower would notch 1246 points in 961 games, a feat that has yet to be beaten in the Montreal history books. Lafleur would play with the Canadiens for 14 seasons and would see his number retired on February 16, 1985.   When the young Saku Koivu is drafted by the Habs in 1993, few could have guessed that he would go on and become Montreal’s captain for over 10 years. Jean Beliveau is the only other Canadiens captain to have had the “C” stitched for that long.

#22 - Carey Price (#5 – 2005)   #4 - Bob Gainey (#8 – 1973)
Since being drafted 5th overall in 2005, Carey Price has participated in three All-Star games, as well as having been awarded the Molson Cup three times.   Drafted eighth overall in 1973, Bob Gainey would have 1160 regular season games under his belt, making him one of the most complete players in the NHL. Gainey would be awarded the Frank-Selke trophy four consecutive times.
