Before even getting off the plane in St. Paul, Minnesota to take part in the All-Star weekend, Sheldon Souray already had a reputation around the league as one of the hardest shooters in the NHL. Souray took advantage of the skills competition to prove them all right, ripping a blistering 102.2 mph slap-shot. Islanders defenseman, Adrian Aucoin, wound up winning the contest, edging Souray in the tie-breaker.
