Position: HEAD EQUIPMENT MANAGER
Pierre Gervais enters his 15th season as Head Equipment Manager for the Canadiens, his 25rd season with the organization. He joined the team as Assistant Equipment Manager in 1987-88, following five seasons with the AHL’s Sherbrooke Canadiens (1982 to 1987), and five more in the QMJHL with Trois-Rivières and Sherbrooke. Gervais was a member of the Stanley Cup Champions Canadiens in 1993, and the Calder Cup Champions Sherbrooke Canadiens in 1985. He also participated at the Memorial Cup Tournament in 1978, 1979 and 1981.
A member of the Society of Professional Equipment Managers’ Board, he was honoured by the Association of Sports Equipment Managers for his 2,000-NHL-game milestone in 2007-08. In February 2010, he served as one of the Equipment Managers with Team Canada at the Olympic Games in Vancouver, his third Olympics, after Salt Lake City in 2002 (gold) and Turin in 2006. Gervais was also a member of Team Canada’s gold-medal squad at the 2004 World Cup of Hockey and worked with the team at the 2005 World Hockey Championship in Austria (silver medal). Gervais served on the committee of the Society of Professionel Equipment Managers from 2005 to 2011.
Pierre Gervais was born in Trois-Rivières, Québec, on October 20, 1961.
