Position: SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, COMMUNICATIONS AND COMMUNITY RELATIONS
Donald Beauchamp is entering his 20th year with the Canadiens organization. He was named Vice President, Communications and Community Relations on March 6, 2002. As a senior executive, he oversees the club’s communications strategy, and manages all aspects of the Canadiens’ presence in the community.
Beauchamp, who is member of the board of directors of the Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation, supports several humanitarian organizations, including the Heart and Stroke Foundation as well as En Coeur, an organization that provides help and support to children suffering from cardiac illnesses. Donald joined the Canadiens in September 1993, following eight years as Director of Public Relations and Marketing with Hockey Canada in Calgary. As a representative of Hockey Canada, he played a key role at three consecutive Winter Olympics; Calgary (1988), Albertville (1992) and Lillehammer (1994), as well as four World Hockey Championships; Switzerland (1990), Finland (1991), Czechoslovakia (1992) and Germany (1993).
Donald studied Communications at Ottawa University from 1982 to 1985 and completed a certificate in Public Relations Management from Royal Roads University in Victoria, B.C. in 2007. A former goaltender, he played with the Trois-Rivières Draveurs in the QMJHL, in 1979-80. He was born in Montreal on January 11, 1962.
