DETROIT - Here's a numerical look at the Habs-Red Wings game at the Joe Louis Arena on Thursday night.
24 – Number of years that have elapsed since the Canadiens last visited Detroit twice in a single season. The last time the bleu-blanc-rouge set foot on Joe Louis Arena ice on multiple occasions in one year was during the 1990-91 campaign.
40 – Number of times the Canadiens have scored the game’s opening goal during a given tilt thus far this season, with Tomas Plekanec adding to that tally by beating Red Wings netminder Jimmy Howard at the 5:14 mark of the first period on Thursday night in Detroit.
6 – Number of times Plekanec has reached the 20-goal plateau over the course of his NHL career. The Czech centerman hit that mark by notching his second goal of the game during the opening frame on Thursday night at Joe Louis Arena.
