The Montreal Canadiens Children's Foundation Radio-Telethon to raise over $130,000
MONTREAL - The Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation is proud to announce that its fifth annual Radio-Telethon presented on March 12 on RDS, TSN, 98,5 FM and TSN Radio 690 has raised over $130,000 so far thanks to the generosity of Canadiens fans.
From March 19, Habs supporters can still contribute to the current amount by placing their bids to win a Montreal Canadiens players’ hockey stick. Each player donated to the Foundation a signed stick they used during a game of the 2013-14 season. The online auction will be accessible at auction.nhl.com until midnight March 27.
“As we saw during this fifth annual Radio-Telethon, Canadiens fans once again stepped up to the plate in support of our cause and their big-heartedness helped us surpass results from the four previous years. Thanks to them, the Foundation can pursue its mission,” said Geoff Molson, President and CEO of the Montreal Canadiens.
The outstanding support from the team broadcasters contributes not only to the fundraising but also to bring to light the Montreal Canadiens family’s commitment to the community and the Foundation’s mission and initiatives across the province of Quebec. Furthermore, to ensure the success of this special fundraising event, the Foundation relies on partners such as Activis, Bell, Desjardins and La Presse+, as well as the participation of an army of volunteers, including spouses of Canadiens players, Alumni and personalities along with an array of collaborators who graciously donated their time and expertise for the cause.
