Olympic recap - February 12
CZECH REPUBLIC 2 – 4 SWEDEN
Even if the Czech Republic’s Olympic campaign kicked off with a loss, Tomas Plekanec was one of his team’s most valuable players against the Swedes. The Czech captain led all forwards in the game with 22:04 in ice time. In fact, only Czech blueliner Marek Zidlicky logged more time on ice with his 26:56.
The pivot also obtained an assist on his team’s first goal, scored by Jaromir Jagr. The other assist on the play went to former Hab Tomas Kaberle. Presenting an even plus-minus, Plekanec also added two shots on net in the game.
The Czechs’ next match-up will pit them against the Latvians on Friday, February 14. The game will start at 3PM Eastern Standard Time.
