2013 All-Star Classic

PRESS RELEASE

MONTREAL – evenko is pleased to announce the presentation of the « 2013 All-Star Classic » featuring some of the top NHL players from the 80s and 90s to take on the Montreal Canadiens Alumni on Sunday, March 24, 2013 at the Bell Centre. Hockey fans will have a unique opportunity to see firsthand several Hall of Famers and some of the game’s greatest scorers and brightest stars of the past.

Canadiens Alumni roster includes Denis Savard, Vincent Damphousse, Donald Audette, Chris Chelios, Chris Nilan, Guy Carbonneau, Stéphane Richer, Mathieu Dandenault, Steve Shutt, Richard Sévigny, Sergio Momesso and Alex Kovalev. The team will be coached by all-time legend Guy Lafleur.

The Greatest Hockey Stars line-up is filled with some of the leading scorers in the NHL through the 80’s and 90’s, including snipers Dino Ciccarelli, Marcel Dionne, Michel Goulet, Bryan Trottier, Glenn Anderson and Peter Stastny. Together these six players recorded a total of 5,209 points and scored 2,549 goals during that decade. Not to be outdone, they will be joined by some of the game’s top players from the 90’s with Eric Lindros, Raymond Bourque, Theoren Fleury, Luc Robitaille, Brian Leetch and Valeri Bure whose combined record stands at 1,424 goals and 3,795 points. Netminder Curtis « CuJo » Joseph will be between the pipes for the Greatest Hockey Stars who will be coached by Michel Bergeron and Jacques Demers.

For this special game the Greatest Hockey Stars players will be wearing their former team’s home jersey (white) while the Canadiens Alumni will don the Canadiens traditional red jersey. The « 2013 All-Star Classic » will be played on Sunday March 24, 2013 at 1 p.m. (doors will open at 11:30 a.m.) on the Bell Centre ice. Part of the money raised will benefit the Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation and Montreal Canadiens Alumni Association.

Tickets for the « 2013 All-Star Classic » featuring the Montreal Canadiens Alumni and the Greatest Hockey Stars will go on sale at the Bell Centre Box Office and on-line at www.evenko.ca from December 8, 2012 at 10 a.m. Ticket prices start at $29 (taxes and service charges included).
