A revelation at the Canadiens’ 2011-12 training camp, Brendan Gallagher capped his final year in Junior by rewriting the Vancouver Giants record books before helping Canada to a bronze medal finish at the World Junior Hockey Championships. Looking for a new challenge to dominate – other than making his professional debut in Hamilton this season – the gritty winger jumped on the Twitter train and took the social media world by storm. We caught up with @BGALLY17 to get the inside scoop on his online persona and see how he’s winning over his new fans in Montreal and beyond, 140 characters at a time.
Who convinced you to join the Twittersphere:
Do you feel like you succumbed to the “Dark Side of the force”?

How often do you go on Twitter daily:
I was actually pretty bad at the start; I was checking it every time I got on my phone during the first couple weeks.
Which athletes do you following on Twitter:
Do you sometimes shake your head after reading one of your teammates’ tweets?
A lot of the guys are pretty good, but with Holland, he has such a weird vibe, not just on Twitter, but in the house, too! He’s pretty entertaining.

I follow Kate Upton (@KateUpton) because deep down, I feel like we’re going to get married one day! (laughs)
Which of your teammates would you like to see join Twitter:
Who’s not on Twitter! I think Jarred Tinordi would be a pretty popular guy.
What’s the weirdest Tweet you’ve ever received from one of your followers:
I’ve got some people proposing to me! I thought it was flattering, but a little weird.
