The Russians go on the offensive
Fans that showed up to the Metro Center in Halifax hoping to see some fireworks between the Canadians and Russians didn’t leave disappointed. Both sides went on the offensive in a high-scoring tilt, with the Russians eventually edging out Team Canada 6-5. Monday’s game marked the second win for Russia, giving them a 2-1 lead in the four-game Canada-Russia Challenge.

Coming back from two-goal deficits at two different points in the match, Team Canada’s character and will to win were on display Monday night for the Halifax crowd. Playing well at both ends of the ice, Charles Hudon was easily one of Canada’s top skaters throughout the game, scoring his team’s fourth goal during a second period power play. The goal would pull the Canadians even at 4-4.

The fourth and final game of the Canada-Russia Challenge will take place Tuesday night in Halifax.
