Canadiens recall Andreas Engqvist

MONTREAL – The Montreal Canadiens announced Monday that forward Andreas Engqvist has been recalled from the AHL Hamilton Bulldogs.
Assigned to the Bulldogs on January 26 the 6’01’’ and 201 lbs centre ranks third on the Bulldogs in scoring with 24 points (13 goals, 11 assists) in 29 games this season. Five of his goals were scored on the powerplay. Engqvist registered 69 shots on goal and displays a team-leading +7 plus/minus differential.
In nine games with the Canadiens this season, Engqvist, 24, recorded four blocked shots and seven hits, while averaging 6:51 of ice time per game.
The Stockholm-born forward Engqvist signed with the Canadiens as a free agent on July 13, 2009.
