The Next Step
|Check out Desharnais' goals
Following a short stint of six games with the team in 2009-10, the young center solidified his place within the Canadiens organization, suiting up for 43 games in 2011-12, in addition to the seven playoff matches he took part in against the Bruins. During his rookie season, Desharnais posted a total of 23 points, with four goals and four assists coming on the powerplay, as he centered a line composed of Darche and Pouliot, and also White and Pouliot.
Desharnais quickly proved to be a force with the man advantage, where as past of a trio with Andrei Kostitsyn and Michael Cammalleri, he helped put up five goals in only 26 minutes and 13 seconds of powerplay ice time.
With the Canadiens next campaign looming, all that’s left for Desharnais to do is make sure that the fire that fuelled him through his first NHL season is still burning hot. Taking a quality over quantity approach to his game, Desharnais posted the best shot/goal ratio among all Habs in 2010-11, finding the back of the net on 14,5% of his shots after putting up similar numbers in his time with the Bulldogs, lighting the lamp on 14,3% of his attempts.
