Today takes on Montreal
MONTREAL – Viewers across North America wake up to the Today Show every morning, but fans in Montreal will have some added incentive to tune in on Thursday morning.

Hoda Kotb et Kathie Lee Gifford meet Youppi!
On Wednesday, Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb stopped by the Montreal Canadiens Hall of Fame to shoot a segment that will appear in the fourth hour of the upcoming July 14 episode. The two popular Today Show hosts will be broadcasting live from Place Jacques Cartier in the Old Port on Thursday morning – the first time the NBC morning show will be filmed outside of the United States.

To help Gifford and Kotb, donning their No. 16 and 24 Habs jerseys, familiarize themselves with Canadiens culture, Youppi! was on hand at the Hall of Fame to give the ladies a tour of the one-of-a-kind Habs museum

In addition to the piece on the Canadiens Hall of Fame, Gifford and Kotb will look for the best bagels Montreal has to offer, go for a stroll through the Jean Talon Market, sample some poutine, tour the suite where John Lennon and Yoko Ono stayed at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel and take in the view from the top of Mount Royal.

The Today Show first aired on January 14, 1952 and has since become the most-watched morning show in the US averaging five to six million viewers every morning.
