The Power of One
Having gone scoreless in their last three games, the topic of who will notch the next goal to end the offensive drought was a main topic of discussion in the Habs’ dressing room following Tuesday morning’s skate.

“We all trust each other, we all have confidence in each other. We just want to get some of those things going that were working for us before and hopefully the whole team will be successful.”
The Habs should get a chance to flex their offensive muscles in Tuesday night’s tilt as they prepare to face a Thrashers squad whose 246 goals against, rank them last in the that category in the Eastern Conference. While that may be case, don’t look for Jacques Martin’s squad to take anything for granted when the puck drops at 7:30 p.m.
“We really need to be firing on all cylinders in every game for the rest of the year. There are no easy matchups right now,” pointed out James Wisniewski whose 47 points are enough to place him just behind Tomas Plekanec for the team’s scoring lead.
“Guys on teams that are out of the playoffs are playing for pride and for jobs next year, and then you have the teams that are still in the race fighting for a playoff spot. There are no easy opponents this time of the season. We need to shake these last three games off and when we get that goal or that win, the floodgates will open up again.”
After scoring his first goal in the NHL in the last game in which the Habs scored a goal, forward Ryan White was quick to mention that while it may not matter who it is that lights the lamp next, whoever does will be giving the team a much needed boost.
“We obviously need to just start by getting one at this point. It would be great for guys like Pleky or Cammy to get the goal, but in the end it doesn’t matter who scores it or how it goes in – but whoever scores should really be able to get this team going,” expressed White. “I have a big belief in all of these guys and we just need to go out and get this win.”
