Carey Price's best saves this season |
After being voted a starter for the Eastern Conference in the 2008 All-Star Game in Montreal, Price has received an invite to attend the midseason classic again this year.
Narrowly edged out by Penguins netminder Marc-Andre Fleury for the starting job this time around, Price was second in fan voting earlier this month. With an NHL-high 38 games already under his belt this season, the 23-year-old has earned a 21-14-3 record in that span to go with his four shutouts, 2.31 goals-against average and sparkling .921 save percentage.
The Anahim Lake, B.C. native was named the NHL’s second star of the month for November and has earned three-straight nods as the Canadiens’ Molson Cup winner for October, November and December. On January 6, Price also became just the seventh goalie in NHL history to post three 20-win seasons before his 24th birthday.
