MONTREAL – With less than two weeks left to go until the polls close, Carey Price and Michael Cammalleri are leading the Habs in the race to Raleigh.
After five weeks of voting, Price is still leading the way between the pipes with 286,602 votes – third overall behind only Sidney Crosby and Kris Letang. Despite Price’s stranglehold on the No.1 spot, Pittsburgh netminder Marc-Andre Fleury is closing in on the Habs’ star goalie, earning over 41,000 votes last week alone.
After finishing last week in the No. 7 position, Cammalleri has jumped past Alex Ovechkin for sixth place among NHL forwards with 209,033 votes. To make it into the starting lineup, though, Cammy still has a ways to go to catch third-ranked Evgeni Malkin and his 242,851 votes to date.
The Canadiens are also tied with the Penguins for the league-lead with 10 players apiece in the Top 167, with Price, Cammalleri, Tomas Plekanec, P.K. Subban, Brian Gionta, Andrei Markov, Josh Gorges, Hal Gill, Roman Hamrlik and Andrei Kostitsyn all receiving votes.
