BROSSARD – In today’s notebook, the dinged-up Habs talk about their return to action.

Giving peace a chance: After injuring himself during a scrap with Maple Leafs’ forward – and former Sabres teammate – Clarke MacArthur on Saturday night, Jaroslav Spacek is planning on employing a passive resistance strategy from now on.

“I’m 50/50 for tomorrow. I woke up in a pretty good mood and I put my son on the bus and he was in a good mood too so I decided to go out and practice with the team and I had fun out there again. I’m not that type of player; it’s kind of sad to see an old player like me acting like I’m 20-years-old and going to fight out there,” joked Spacek. “Clarke is my friend; I played with him for a couple of years in Buffalo. I was kind of surprised he tried to go after me, but I understand. I told myself, I’m not 20 anymore so next time I’ll probably keep the helmet on and just try to run away!”

Bend, not break: He may have taken a few therapy days of late, but Josh Gorges isn’t about to see his current Canadiens Iron Man streak snapped after 144 games. Listing his level of pain on the lower-end of a 1-10 scale, the rugged blue-liner isn’t even considering calling in sick against the Flyers.

“I’ll be in there tomorrow, absolutely,” Gorges vowed. “[On a scale of 1-10], I’m a three. When that day comes, if it’s too much and if I can’t handle it, then I can’t handle it but I think everyone plays around a three or four. The most important thing is being ready to play games and whatever it takes to play well when it’s game time. I don’t want to be able to play at half my potential because I’m not doing the team justice by doing that.”

Define lower body: After missing Friday and Saturday’s games with a lower body injury, Scott Gomez accidentally shed some light on exactly what’s ailing him. Or did he…

“I feel a lot better. It was good to get a practice in. We’ll try the pre-game tomorrow and we’ll see what we’ve got. It’s good to get back out there with the guys and see how it reacts. With a broken toe, your stride is a little off but you still go at 100% out there,” explained Gomez, before correcting himself. “Or it’s a sprained ankle...it’s one of those things. When it’s a calf injury, your stride is a little off. The [butt] is a bit different; when it’s that big you don’t usually have a problem with that.”
