MONTREAL – Up this week for the Habs: The Flyers and Bruins visit the Bell Centre before the Canadiens kick off their holiday road-trip with a stop in Colorado.

Canadiens vs. Flyers – Wednesday, December 15 @ 7:30 PM

Wednesday’s game will mark the third meeting of the season for the Eastern Conference rivals, with the Canadiens and Flyers splitting the points from their first two encounters. Jacques Martin’s troops blanked Peter Laviolette’s squad at the Bell Centre by a score of 3-0 on Nov. 16. Six days later the Habs took on the Flyers, this time in Philadelphia, dropping the contest by a score of 3-2 in a game that saw Maxim Lapierre scores both of the Habs’ goals.

Look for Flyers’ goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky to be between the pipes for Philadelphia. Bobrovsky currently ranks second in votes among NHL goaltenders for the 2011 All-Star Game, with only Canadiens’ netminder Carey Price racking up more votes. Price currently sits atop the league with 17 wins under his belt.

Canadiens vs. Bruins – Thursday, December 16 @ 7:00 PM

Despite both being Northeast Division teams, the Canadiens and the Bruins have only butted heads once since the beginning of the 2010-11 season. The clubs are scheduled to meet a total of six times over the course of the year. The Habs walked away with a 3-1 victory on Nov. 11, the power-play being the main contributing factor in their win, accounting for two of the Canadiens’ three goals.

Thursday night’s matchup represents the perfect opportunity for the Canadiens to distance themselves from the Bruins in the Northeast Division, as Boston trails the Habs by only two points while also holding two games in hand. The Canadiens top-guns will have to be at their sharpest when they go up against Bruins’ netminder Tim Thomas, as he continues to dominate the NHL in save percentage, goals-against average and shutouts.

Canadiens @ Avalanche – Sunday, December 19 @ 8:00 PM

The Canadiens kick off their lengthy holiday road-trip with a stop in Colorado for their annual game against the Avalanche. It will mark the first of seven consecutive road games for Jacques Martin’s squad. The Habs should have their hands full dealing with a Colorado team that ranks second in goals per game in the NHL, with an average of 3,41.

Sunday’s game will also feature a familiar face as the Habs get set to go up against ex-teammate Ryan O’Byrne. O’Byrne has played his last 15 games in a Colorado jersey and has enjoyed over 19 minutes of ice-time in 12 different games and currently posts a +7 rating.
