MONTREAL – Two weeks into the voting process and Canadiens fans are still going strong.
After leading the way in Week 1 despite being left off the NHL ballot, Carey Price is still at the top of the class between the pipes, pacing the league with 145,726 write-in votes. The Habs’ netminder is followed by fellow write-in candidate Sergei Bobrovsky of the Philadelphia Flyers with 116,725 votes.
Another write-in candidate for the Canadiens, defenseman P.K. Subban is inching his way up the leaderboard in his own right. Jumping up a spot to No. 8 among NHL blue-liners, the 21-year-old rookie has already accumulated 89, 050 votes to date. Injured rearguard Andrei Markov currently ranks 15th among defenseman with 43,517 votes.
Up front, the Habs have good representation from Michael Cammalleri, Tomas Plekanec and Brian Gionta, who rank sixth, 13 and 14, respectively. With 107,575 votes, Cammalleri is just shy of overtaking Patrick Kane for the fifth spot on the list but well back of Sidney Crosby who has a league-leading 218,791 votes to date.
