Canadiens vs. Oilers – Wednesday, Dec. 1 @ 7:00 PM
Fans making it out to the Bell Centre Wednesday night will get the chance to see the first overall pick of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft in action as Taylor Hall and the Edmonton Oilers come to Montreal.
While the Alberta squad may have a bright future ahead of them with young talents Hall, Jordan Eberle and Magnus Paajarvi in their lineup, their present is proving to be more troublesome as the team currently sits last in the Western Conference. Count on the Habs to try and make the most of the Oilers visit, shooting for their tenth win at home, having bested Edmonton 5-4 in a shootout during their last visit to Montreal in March.
Canadiens @ Devils – Thursday, Dec. 2 @ 7:00 PM
On Thursday, Jacques Martin’s team will head to New Jersey to take on the Devils for their second game in as many nights.
The teams last met on Oct. 21, with John Maclean’s troop marching out of the Bell Centre with a 3-0 win over the hometown team. After shutting the Habs out in their last matchup it remains uncertain as to whether Martin Brodeur will dress for the Devils after missing five straight games with an elbow injury. The Canadiens will be gunning for a win on the road after dropping their last two contests away from the Bell Centre.
Canadiens vs. Sharks – Saturday, Dec. 4 @ 2:00 PM
The Sharks will pay a visit to the Bell Centre on Dec. 4 to help the Montreal Canadiens celebrate their 101st birthday in the team’s first afternoon game of the 2010-11 season. San Jose currently sits 10th in the Western Conference, which shouldn’t be taken as a measure of the team’s play considering only a single point separates them from second place.
The Sharks’ main offensive weapons, Dany Heatley, Joe Thornton and Patrick Marleau, have once again been firing on all cylinders this season. The three players have a combined total of 67 points in 64 games and are responsible for 42% of their team’s goals.
