Canadiens Blood Donor Clinic
Throughout the day, from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m., representatives of the Montreal Canadiens will be on hand to greet donors and thank them for their gift of life. Members of the Canadiens’ Alumni as well as RDS celebrities will take over while the players take to the ice for their daily team practice.
Initiated by Jean Béliveau and Claude Mouton back in 1981, the Canadiens’ Blood Donor Clinic originally benefited the Canadian Red Cross organization which provided blood supply in Québec at the time. Since 1998, the Montreal Canadiens organize their blood drive in collaboration with Héma-Québec.
To benefit Héma-Québec
Héma-Québec was created in September 1998 to efficiently provide adequate quantities of safe, optimal blood components, substitutes, human tissue and cord blood to meet the needs of all Quebecers; as well as provide and develop expertise along with specialized and innovative services and products in the fields of transfusion medicine and human tissue transplants.
