Habs this week - November 8, 2010
MONTREAL -- On the docket this week, the Habs take on the Canucks and ‘Canes at home with a road trip to Boston spliced in the middle.

Canadiens vs. Canucks – Tuesday, November 9 @ 7:30 p.m.

The start to the week won’t be an easy one for the Canadiens, who take on the streaking Canucks in a rare tilt against the Western Conference foe, who will carry their record of six-straight wins with them to the Bell Centre.

If the Habs want to snap the Canucks’ streak, they’ll have to slow down the always-dangerous Sedin twins, who have already combined for 32 points in 13 games.

Canadiens @ Bruins – Thursday, November 11 @ 7:00 p.m.

The fierce Habs-Bruins rivalry hits the ice for the first time this season at TD Banknorth Garden in Boston. With a near-perfect 5-1 record against the Bruins last year, the Canadiens are heading to Beantown ready to add another win to that dossier this week.

If they want to pick up those important two points, though, the Canadiens will have to solve Tim Thomas, who’s back in vintage Vezina form. After a lapse last season, the veteran netminder has posted a league-leading 1.05 goals-against average,.967 save percentage and three shutouts to start the campaign.

Canadiens vs. Hurricanes – Saturday, November 13 @ 7:00 p.m.

After a quick road trip to the States, the Habs are back home on Saturday to take on Eric Staal and the Carolina Hurricanes. The ‘Canes have proven to be a thorn in the side of the Canadiens since the lockout, with the Habs posting a below-.500 average against Carolina since the 2005-06 season. The two teams split their series last year, each winning two of the four games they played in 2009-10.
