Make the play
Make sure everyone remembers the year’s best highlight by voting for your favorite play of the year now. Each week during the 2009-10 season, fans had the chance to vote and one-by-one, spectacular dekes, dangles, set ups and saves were crowned the Play of the Week. With the campaign now in the books, it’s time to separate the men from the boys and decide on the Montreal Canadiens Play of the Year.
Reigning PoY champ Carey Price will be looking to defend his crown and will go head-to-head with fellow netminder Jaroslav Halak, who captured his share of Play of the Week honors this season himself.
They’ll also go toe-to-toe with Michael Cammalleri, who has seven of his 39 goals in the running for the title. Will Cammy manage to one-time and snipe his way to the championship this time around?
A few underdogs will be looking to play spoiler to the front-runners this time around, too. Josh Gorges, Maxim Lapierre, Dominic Moore, Andrei Markov, Tomas Plekanec, Brian Gionta, Scott Gomez, Roman Hamrlik and Sergei Kostitsyn will all be vying to knock off the favorites this spring.
Based on the Habs’ recent playoff run this year, Price, Halak and Cammalleri will know better than to count out the underdogs before the final buzzer. But the choice is yours. Come by every day to vote for your favorite and help crown your 2009-10 Play of Year.
