Habs notebook - March 22, 2010
MONTREAL --In today’s Habs notebook, get the official word on whether Cammy will be sporting one of his sweet suits or his uniform tonight and more.

Not so fast boys: Both dying to be back in the lineup, Michael Cammalleri and Marc-Andre Bergeron will have to remain patient a little while longer according to the guys with framed degrees wearing stethoscopes.

“When it comes to injuries, it’s really important to listen to and trust our doctors,” warned head coach Jacques Martin, who would like nothing more than to welcome his leading scorer and power-play catalyst back to the lineup. “We have a great medical staff and our procedures are in place for a reason. At the end of the day, it’s for the player’s own good.”

Share and share alike: With his defensive corps really coming together of late, Martin has begun rolling his three pairings equally regardless of who the team faces. It’s a move that hasn’t gone unnoticed by Ryan O’Byrne.

“Since I reached the NHL, I’ve never played in a situation like this. All three of our of sets of D are doing well right now and doing a solid job against the opposing top lines. Personally, I’ve normally only faced third or fourth lines up until now. It really boosts my confidence to know that the coaching staff has me facing the top lines in the league.”

Kovy back in the hizzy: Mired in a slump or not, Alex Kovalev being back in Montreal is always bound to cause a stir. The Sens winger will remain a focal point for his former team even though he hasn’t picked up a point in nine games.

“I’m sure Alex will give a little something extra tonight. He’s here facing his old team and he’ll want to make an impact for sure,” admitted a wary Josh Gorges. “He’s obviously one of their key players but we can’t solely focus on Kovy. They have a few players on the other side that can hurt us, too.
