Who is Aaron Palushaj?

It beats us, but someone in the Habs system knows all about him.
First of all, Aaron Palushaj’s last name is pronounced puh-LOO-shigh, second of all, he’s Max Pacioretty’s old college roommate from their days at the University of Michigan.
Teammates during Pacioretty’s only season in Ann Arbour in 2007-08, Palushaj and his fellow freshman piled up 44 and 39 points, respectively across the Wolverines 43-game schedule to sit third and fourth in team scoring behind only a pair of seniors.
After being joined at the hip on campus, the pair was just as inseparable at the 2007 NHL Draft in Columbus. After seeing Pacioretty go to the Canadiens at No. 22, Palushaj made his way up to the podium 22 selections later to slip on his St. Louis jersey and bend the bill on his Blues cap.
While Pacioretty was busy piling up 86 games of NHL experience with the Canadiens, Palushaj was honing his skills with the Blues’ farm team in Peoria. They’ve stayed in touch via text and email, but now Pacioretty and Palusahj will be reacquainted in a major way, beginning in Hamilton with the Bulldogs. This time around, Pacioretty will certainly have first dibs on which side of the room he gets.
