MONTREAL - Here's a numerical look at the Canadiens - Capitals matchup on Tuesday night at the Verizon Center, in Washington.

6068 – Number of games played by the Canadiens in their existence, getting the party started with a 7-6 overtime win over the Cobalt Silver Kings on January 5, 1910.

1 – Number of games Alex Ovechkin has now played as captain of the Capitals. Officially given the “C” before Tuesday night’s contest, the Russian sniper was unable to make it onto the scoresheet in his leadership debut.

6 – Number of NHL teams Josh Gorges has yet to notch a point against, getting his first career goal against the Capitals in the second period at the Verizon Center.

5 – Number of shots fired by Michael Cammalleri on Michal Neuvirth, bringing Cammy’s season total to 144 shots on the year, good enough for 11th in the league.
