Habs this week – Nov. 23, 2009
Canadiens vs Blue Jackets – Tuesday November 24 @ 7:30 p.m.
Making a rare trip to the Bell Centre, the Blue Jackets are in Montreal this Tuesday to face the Canadiens. In what will be the first of two games in two days for Jacques Martin’s squad, Columbus will be coming off a Monday night tilt against the New York Rangers.
Still flying after a big week against three solid opponents, the Canadiens will look to register a fourth-straight game without a loss in regulation, picking up five of a possible six points against the Hurricanes, the Capitals and the Red Wings.
Canadiens @ Penguins – Wednesday November 25 @ 7:20 p.m.
The Canadiens will then get right back at it 24 hours later by traveling to Pittsburgh for the second and final time this season. Their last trip to the Igloo was a forgettable one for the Habs with the Penguins cruising to a 6-1 win behind a hat-trick from Sidney Crosby.
The Pens may be hard-pressed to repeat that offensive bonanza with the way the Habs have been blocking shots of late. The combination of 71 blocked shots and a sizzling Carey Price may be bad news for the Penguins and their big guns.
Canadiens vs Capitals – Saturday November 28 @ 7:00 p.m.
For the second time in seven days, the Habs and Capitals will lock horns, only this time around it will be in the friendly confines of the Bell Centre. The Habs will look to once again stifle Washington’s potent offense which was limited to only two goals with Alexander Ovechkin being held off the scoresheet for only the fourth time this season.
