Here's a numerical look at the Canadiens-Red Wings shootout thriller at the Bell Centre on Saturday night.

8:24 – Time, in minutes, that the Canadiens were forced to play short-handed in the first period alone, piling up 11 penalties overall in the game.

2:00 – Total penalty minutes served by Detroit throughout the contest, with only Justin Abdelkader spending time in the box for the Wings for holding the stick in the first period.

10 – Game-high number of shots fired at Carey Price by Red Wings defenseman Brad Stuart.

28
– Consecutive number of games in which defenseman Roman Hamrlik has gobbled up over 20 minutes of ice time, including all 22 he’s suited up for this season.

2 – Number of wins recorded by the first-ever Canadiens team in 1909-10, with the modern-day Habs paying homage to that inaugural group by sporting the vintage blue “C” jerseys on Saturday night.

5 – Number of seconds quicker Claude Provost was at finding the back of the net on November 9, 1957 than Michael Cammalleri was on Saturday night. Provost owns the franchise record for the fastest goal to start a period, needing just four seconds from the drop of the puck to light the lamp against Gordie Howe and the Red Wings in 1957.

30 – Number of games Cammalleri needed to notch his 11th goal of the season in 2008-09 before finishing the campaign with 39. After potting both of the Canadiens’ goals against the Wings, Cammy needed just 23 games to get his 11th already this year.

5 – Game-high number of shots blocked by Habs blue-liner Ryan O’Byrne, playing 18:55 in just his second game back after recovering from a knee injury.
