Habs this week - Nov. 9, 2009
Canadiens vs Flames – Tuesday, November 10 @ 7:30 p.m.
It’s been just over a month since the last time the two teams duked it out in Calgary, the Habs’ third regular season game of the campaign. The 4-3 Flames win marked the Canadiens’ first loss of the season, snapping their 2-0 undefeated mark at the start of the year.
Tuesday’s game will also give Michael Cammalleri a chance to show off his new digs to his former teammates, playing against his old buddies in front of his home crowd for the first time. With 14 points already in the campaign, the Canadiens’ leading scorer will be looking to build on his explosive start in Montreal.
Canadiens @ Coyotes – Thursday, November 12 @ 9:00 p.m.
The heat is on for the Canadiens this week, as Jacques Martin’s squad heads off to sunny Arizona to take on the Coyotes on Thursday night. It will be a homecoming of sorts for Paul Mara, who spent the majority of his young career honing his skills in Phoenix, posting career-offensive numbers with the ‘Yotes.
On the goaltending front, it could be a chance to make new acquaintances for Jaroslav Halak if the young netminder gets the nod on Thursday. The Coyotes are one of the few teams Halak has yet to face so far in his career. For his part, Carey Price has a perfect record versus Phoenix, posting wins in both of his starts against the Coyotes in his career and owning a 1.50 goals-against average in that span.
Canadiens @ Predators – Saturday, November 14 @ 8:00 p.m.
To cap off their busy week, the Canadiens close things out in Music City on Saturday night. A familiar face will be in the Nashville lineup, with former Hab Francis Bouillon recently reaching the 500-career game milestone in a game with the Predators. The 10-year veteran will look to stop former teammates Tomas Plekanec and Guillaume Latendresse, who have a point-per-game record against the Preds so far in their careers.
Between the pipes, it would be Price who could be seeing action against the Predators for the first time in his career, while Halak owns a 2-0-0 lifetime against Nashville.
