Bulldogs Report - Oct. 28, 2009
While it’s always a dangerous game to project how a team’s season will unfold based on a scorching start, but the stars appear to be aligned for the Bulldogs in 2009-10.
First of all, Hamilton has yet to suffer a loss in regulation. In fact, the only “blemishes” on their record is a loss in overtime and three by shootout.
Off to such a strong start, the Bulldogs’ coaching staff decided to keep their team loose by treating them to a little NFL action over the weekend. A dose of team building at its finest, the entire team made its way to Reliant Stadium in Houston before taking on the Houston Aeros. The Dogs’ got to kick back and watch the Texans handle the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday afternoon, with the home team narrowly escaping with a 24-21 win.
Off the gridiron, a key contributor to Hamilton’s great start to the year continues to be Curtis Sanford. Signed by the Habs this summer, the veteran netminder has recorded a pair of shutouts on his way to posting an amazing 1.28 goals against average and a sparkling .949 save percentage.
The decision spend part of their training camp in Scottland has sure paid off for the ‘Dogs find themselves on pace to crush their impressive 102-point season of a year ago.
