MONTREAL- No matter where he may find himself, Hal Gill, the Canadiens recently acquired rearguard certainly doesn’t go unnoticed. Briefly passing through town to visit his new home, the 6-foot-7 defenceman, as usual, turned a fair number of heads.

Nonetheless, in an effort to learn a little more about him than his size, we put the 34-year-old veteran on the hot seat finding him more than willing to play along.

What was the first car you owned?
A 1982 grey and rust colored Ford F-150.

What was your favorite toy as a child?
A scooter.

What tune would you choose as your theme song?
Lucky Me by Great Big Sea

If you could meet anyone you wanted to, who would that person be?
William Wallace would be my first choice. If you’ve seen Braveheart you’ll understand why. If not him, my second choice would be Abraham Lincoln to see if he was as inspirational as they say.

If you could play in any musical group, past or present, which would you choose?
Great Big Sea or Coldplay.

If you could pick the actor to play you in the biopic on your life, who would you choose?
Brad Pitt. He’s the sexiest, right?

What was your first job?
Mowing lawns. I was about ten years old.

Who’s your favorite Simpsons character?
Probably Barney, the fat drunk.

If you didn’t play hockey, what would you do for a living?
I’d be a math teacher. I have a degree in that field.
