Here’s a numerical look at the tilt between the Canadiens and the Rangers at the Bell Centre on Tuesday night.  

16:30 – Elapsed time in the first period before Sean Avery was back to his old antics.  After writhing around in “pain” deep in the Canadiens zone for 10 seconds or so, looking to draw a penalty, the infamous agitator peeled himself off the ice and played out the remaining 20 seconds of his shift.

45 – Number of assists recorded by Andrei Markov since the start of the campaign, establishing a career-high for the shifty blue-liner.

18 – Number of shifts played by Guillaume Latendresse upon his return to the Habs’ lineup, after sitting out the past 19 games with a shoulder injury.

6021 – Approximate distance in kilometers between Montreal and Turku, Finland, home not only to captain Saku Koivu, but also to Rangers winger Lauri Korpikoski.

392 – Number of days since the Canadiens completed the greatest comeback in team history, on February 19, 2008 at the Bell Centre.  The Habs picked up a 6-5 win in the affair after spotting the Rangers a 5-0 lead just 25 minutes into the game.

48 – Number of points recorded by Alex Kovalev in 36 lifetime appearances against the Rangers since the superstar winger was drafted by the Blueshirts in the first round in 1991.
