Canadiens assign Marc Denis to Hamilton
MONTREAL -- The Canadiens announced Sunday that goaltender Marc Denis has been reassigned to the Hamilton Bulldogs.
Denis, 31, was recalled by the Canadiens on January 1. The Montreal native appeared in one game with the Canadiens this season, turning aside six of the seven shots he faced in 20 minutes of ice time on January 2 in New Jersey.
In 22 games with Hamilton this season, the 6-foot-1, 193-pound goaltender posted a 14-7 record with a 2.60 goals-against average and a .914 save percentage. Denis is currently tied for ninth in the AHL with 14 wins and tied in fourth for shutouts with three.
Denis was also named AHL Player of the Week for the period ending November 2, 2008, after recording three wins in as many starts, stopping 96 of 99 shots directed at him.
Denis will join the Bulldogs in preparation for their next game, January 19 against the Crunch in Syracuse.
