The Numbers Game - Dec. 9, 2008
MONTREAL - Here’s a numerical look at the Canadiens-Flames match-up at the Bell Centre on Tuesday night.

136 – Players in NHL history who have suited up for 1,100 or more games in the league. Alex Kovalev became the newest member of the exclusive club when he faced off against the Flames.

4 – Consecutive games in which newcomer Matt D’Agostini has found the back of the net for the Canadiens, tying him with linemate Saku Koivu for the team’s longest scoring streak of the season.

10 – Assists picked up by Alex Kovalev during his uncharacteristic 17-game goalless skid.

15 – Times the Canadiens have opened the scoring in a game this season, posting an 11-1-3 record when they light the lamp first.

4 – Consecutive match-ups between the Flames and the Habs at the Bell Centre won by the home team since 2002-03.

120 – Lifetime penalty minutes amassed by Georges Laraque against the Flames throughout his career.  A healthy scratch on Tuesday night, the bruising forward didn’t have a chance to add to those numbers at the Bell Centre, missing out on rekindling the rivalry against his former “Battle of Alberta” opponents.
