On the campaign trail: Day 7
MONTREAL – It doesn’t matter how the Canadiens explain their platform; voters continue to show vested interest in the team’s six candidates.

Two days after rallying to take a primary in the mid-west, the Habs’ campaign trail has made its way to the American south.  Early results show each delegate within reach of or having surpassed the 230,000 mark, as well as holding leads of at least 100,000 votes in every category.  With Tuesday’s opposition having yet to pierce through the vote totals, the Canadiens could swing some undecided electors in their favor with a debate victory.

While Montreal holds a fairly firm grip on the starting positions in office, there has been a recent surge from the delegates from Pittsburgh.  On Day 7 of campaigning, three members of the Penguins’ contingent have upped their totals to become the Canadiens’ closest competitors.

Following Tuesday’s debate, the campaign trail moves on to a city that knows all about elections – Ottawa.
