Jean-Sebastien Giguere on his busy night
Among the happy Ducks, few were more satisfied with the win than Montreal native Jean-Sebastien Giguere, who treated his friends and family in attendance to a 47-save performance.
“It was fun, you know. It’s always different when you play in Montreal and obviously I had lots of friends here tonight but to be able to come out with the win, that’s all that matters.”
Randy Carlyle on his team’s less than pretty victory
“It sure was a battle, but I don’t know if both coaches would keep the tape and use it as a teaching tool. When you score as many goals as both teams scored and you give up as many as both teams gave up, you’d like to refine some of the defensive aspects, that’s for sure, but winning in the NHL is not easy, and we’re going to take it.
“They’re a high-tempo, highly-skilled team, but their execution wasn’t where it normally has been. If you’re playing every second day or every third day, it’s easier to maintain that high level. When you have five or six day breaks it kind of gets hard to climb the mountain and it showed, I think they were a little rusty in some areas. We’ll take it though and move forward.”
