The Numbers Game: Oct. 20, 2008
MONTREAL--Here’s a numerical look at the Canadiens-Panthers matchup on Monday night at the Bell Centre.

15-Shifts played by Francis Bouillon in his first game back after missing his team’s first five games of the regular season with a knee injury.

8- Years since the Canadiens last opened a campaign with three straight wins on home ice in 2000-01. That year, Alain Vigneault’s Habs began on a tear that saw them come out on top in their first four home games of the season.

7-Consecutive games between the Canadiens and Panthers played at the Bell Centre which were decided by one goal before Monday, dating back to a 1-1 tie between the two clubs back on November 29, 2003.

6-Consecutive games in which Andrei Markov has now picked up at least one assist this season, marking the longest such streak of his career.

11-Habs to have cracked the 600-point mark prior to Saku Koivu, who joined the elite club by notching his third goal of the season.

322-Games Richard Zednik played with the Canadiens, with the winger spending four-plus seasons in Montreal. Monday night’s game marked Zednik’s first game back at the Bell Centre since his horrific accident last February in Buffalo, in which he suffered a lacerated throat after being cut by the skate of then-teammate Olli Jokinen in a game against the Sabres.

9-Draft round used to selected both the Habs’ Jaroslav Halak and Tomas Vokoun of the Panthers, with the two goalies having been picked by Montreal at No. 271 and No. 226, respectively. Halak was chosen by the Canadiens at the 2003 draft, while Vokoun was picked by Montreal in 1994.
