MONTREAL -- The Canadiens announced Monday that forward Kyle Chipchura has been recalled from the AHL’s Hamilton Bulldogs.
Chipchura, who started the season in Montreal, scored one goal in four pre-season games with the Canadiens. He was assigned to Hamilton on October 16 and scored one assist, served seven penalty minutes and had a plus-1 rating in two games with the Bulldogs. Chipchura has yet to play a regular-season game with the Canadiens in 2008-09.
Last season, the 22-year-old centreman compiled 11 points (4 goals, 7 assists) and 10 penalty minutes in 36 games with the Canadiens. He finished the 2007-08 campaign with Hamilton, posting 21 points (10 goals, 11 assists) and serving 27 penalty minutes in 39 AHL contests.
Chipchura is expected to join the Canadiens today.
