|Sergei Kostitsyn leads all rookie point-getters this postseason.
Trailing only team leader Alex Kovalev in both points and goals so far this postseason with three goals and seven points, Kostitsyn is refusing to allow what’s written on his birth certificate hold him back. The NHL playoff scoring leader among rookies, ahead of the Rangers’ Brandon Dubinsky and freshly eliminated Nicklas Backstrom of the Capitals and David Krejci of the Bruins, Kostitsyn is looking right at home in the pressure cooker that is the NHL's second season.
At age 21, the younger Kostitsyn is on pace to put up the biggest postseason numbers by a rookie aged 21 or younger in the postseason since Scott Gomez and Simon Gagne erupted for 10 points apiece in the spring of 2000. That year, Gagne helped lead the Flyers to the Eastern Conference final, where he was ousted by Gomez and the Devils, who went on to win the Stanley Cup.
