On pace for glory: Part 1
Fellow blue liners Mark Streit and Andrei Markov are both enjoying explosive seasons in 2007-08.
MONTREAL -- Here are a few potential Canadiens individual accomplishments to watch during the final week of the NHL regular season.

Be like Bobby: Currently sitting 12th in NHL scoring, Alex Kovalev has his sights set on doing something that hasn’t been done by a Hab in the past 20 years. Not since Bobby Smith in 1987-88 has a Canadiens player cracked the league's top 15 at the season’s end, with Smith ranking 15th thanks to his 93-point harvest that year.

Marky, Mark and the Funky Bunch:
With Andrei Markov and Mark Streit both closing in on the 60-point plateau with 57 and 58 points, respectively, and only three games to go in the regular season, the Canadiens defensemen may be about to do something unseen by a Habs blue line duo since 1975-76. That year, both Larry Robinson and Guy Lapointe piled up more than 60 points, ending up with 85 and 76 points, respectively.

Spreading the love:
After scoring the winning goal in overtime against the Sabres on Friday night in Buffalo, Christopher Higgins is now one point shy

of the 50-point plateau. Should he get there, the 24-year-old winger will become the seventh player to hit 50 this season for the Canadiens. Not since 1988-89 have the Habs boasted as many players with at least 50 points in the same season.
