Hamilton Report - Mar. 7, 2008
|Kyle Chipchura has been on a roll of late, notching 11 points in his last 12 games.|
Chip-ping in: After a slow start upon his return to Hamilton back in January, Kyle Chipchura has heated up of late. The 22-year-old center has earned at least a point in 10 of his last 12 games, with a trio of goals and eight assists in that span. That brings his season total to six goals and 15 points in 24 games with the Bulldogs.
Sophomore success: Matt D’Agostini may be in his sophomore season in the AHL, but the so-called “jinx” hasn’t taken its toll. The second-year right winger is inching closer to his rookie totals, with 17 goals and 40 points through 59 games. In his professional debut in 2006-07, D’Agostini record 21 goals and 49 points in 63 contests.
Milroy hunts Moose: Duncan Milroy continues to follow teammate Corey Locke’s ascension on the Bulldogs’ all-time scoring list. Milroy has 175 AHL career points, just one point back of Hamilton alum Tomas Plekanec and four shy of second-place Brian Swanson. Milroy couldn’t have asked for a better opponent to continue his climb, with five points (4-1-5) in six games this season against the Manitoba Moose.
Veteran Brett: Acquired back on Feb. 8 from the Red Wings, Brett Engelhardt has added a solid veteran presence to the Bulldogs. The 27-year-old notched his first goal with Hamilton on Sunday and is plus-3 in nine games in Steeltown.
