The Numbers Game
|Maxim Lapierre led the way in the face-off circle among Canadiens centermen against the Hurricanes.|
77 - Team-high face-off winning percentage posted by Maxim Lapierre. The 22-year-old center clearly did his homework in the AHL, winning 10-of-13 draws against the ‘Canes, including all three he had on the night in his own zone.
5 - Team-high number of blocked shots registered by Ryan O’Byrne in his first NHL home game. The 6-foot-5 defenseman also logged 19:18 of ice-time to trail only Andrei Markov (25:29) and Roman Hamrlik (20:45) among Habs blue liners.
3 - Minutes the game was delayed as officials reviewed a potential tying goal by Mark Streit in the first period. The goal was ultimately waved off, as Streit was deemed to have intentionally redirected the puck into the net with his skate.
34 - League-leading number of power-play goals now scored by the Canadiens following Andrei Kostitsyn’s second period goal on a nice feed from Alex Kovalev.
150 - Number of consecutive games played by Mike Komisarek. The Habs' current iron man hasn’t missed a game since Jan. 16, 2006.
2 - Number of shots registered by Tomas Plekanec. The Czech centerman is the only Habs player to have picked up a shot on goal in all 29 games so far in 2007-08.
