Kovalev earns November Molson Cup
PRESS RELEASE

MONTREAL - Right-winger Alex Kovalev is the second recipient of the 2007-08 Molson Cup award, as he won the November segment. Kovalev succeeds rookie goaltender Carey Price, winner in October, and earns the honor for a second time since his arrival with the Canadiens.

Kovalev collected 15 points in November by virtue of three first star selections, edging teammate Cristobal Huet, who collected 13 points.

In 14 games in November, Kovalev scored six goals with four coming on the powerplay and four on the road, while adding five assists for a total of 11 points (6-5-11).

The Russian forward currently sits in second position in the Molson Cup overall standings with 18 points, five behind netminder Cristobal Huet.

Kovalev will be presented with the Molson Cup during a pre-game ceremony prior to tonight’s game against the Nashville Predators, at the Bell Centre.
