From sun and sand to snow and wind. That was how it went for Josh Gorges in 2006-07, who was acquired from the San Jose Sharks in late February. Get to know more about the youngest and newest member of the Canadiens' blue line.
Who would be your partner on "The Amazing Race"? My buddy back home, Ryan Cuthbert.
What's something you've always wanted to do but haven't gotten around to yet? Go on vacation in Europe.
Your dad owns a Dairy Queen, so we have to know- what's your favorite DQ treat? I like the Peanut Buster Parfait.
Craziest fan encounter? It wasn't a fan of mine but there was a fan in San Jose who found out where Scott Hannan lived and every morning she'd walk by, knowing he was going to the rink. A bunch of us would go out to eat with him, and anytime we'd go, she was there. She knew where we were, and for some reason, she was there.
What's your guilty pleasure? Oh geez, just one? (chuckles) I like to eat a lot of junk food.
What's the best gift you've ever received? For Christmas, my first year in the minors, all my buddies had presents sent out and I didn't because I told my parents not too, so I didn't have anything to open on Christmas. So a bunch of the guys just bought me a pair of winter boots, which was actually more about the thought than me needing a pair of boots, so that was pretty nice.
Best practical joke ever pulled on you? My first car didn't need keys to turn the ignition on so I never locked it. It was an '89 Astro van. Nobody was going to steal it. So my buddies that I played with in junior would go, take my car and move it on me so I didn't know where it was. I caught them one time trying to load our trainer's motorbike in the back.
What song or artist should be banned from radio airplay? Hmm. James Blunt.
What's the first CD/album you bought? I don't even know. Probably Dance Mix '93 or something like that. (laughs)
What's your favorite chick flick? Sure, now I'll seem like a softie. (chuckles) Probably The Notebook.
First celebrity crush? Pamela Anderson.
Describe yourself in one word. Easy-going.
