Huet Molson Cup recipient for November

MONTREAL - Goaltender Cristobal Huet is the second winner of the Molson Cup for the 2006-07 season as he was chosen the Canadiens' Player of the Month for November.

Huet collected 36 points in the Molson Cup standings, following six first star selections and two second star selections. Left-winger Guillaume Latendresse took 2nd place with eight points (1-1-0), two more than defenseman Craig Rivet (0-2-0).

In 11 games in November, including nine as the starting goaltender, Huet posted a record of 7 wins and 2 losses, with two shutouts, on November 2 in Carolina and on November 28 against the Florida Panthers. In 589:23 of action, Huet allowed 16 goals, for a goals against average of 1.63. The French goaltender faced 350 shots and posted a .954 save percentage.

In the Molson Cup overall standings, Huet holds first place with 41 points (7-2-0), ahead of goaltender David Aebischer (3-0-0 - 15 points), winner of the award in October, and forward Christopher Higgins (0-4-1 - 13 points).

In 2006-2007, the Molson Cup scoring system grants five points for every first star selection, three points for every second star selection and one point for every third star selection.

A presentation honoring the Molson Cup winner will take place prior to Saturday night's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, at the Bell Centre.
