MONTREAL - The Canadiens announced Friday that 21 prospects will participate in the team's annual development camp from July 10-15 at the Martin Lapointe Arena in Lachine.

The Canadiens' young prospects will participate in their first on-ice session on Monday, July 10th, at 9:00 a.m. The development camp consists of on-ice sessions every morning from 9:00 to 11:30, followed by afternoon off-ice conditioning sessions and other activities. Various seminars will also be presented to the players, notably on nutrition, conditioning and on the Canadiens' history.
 
Five of the six Canadiens' players selected in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft will be attending the camp, including defenseman David Fischer, the Canadiens' first-round selection in 2006, as well as center Benjamin Maxwell, defenseman Mathieu Carle, center Ryan White and defenseman Cameron Cepek. The list also includes goaltender Carey Price, the Canadiens' 2005 first-round pick, left winger Guillaume Latendresse, and center Mathieu Aubin, also selected in the 2005 draft. Center Kyle Chipchura, chosen in the first round in 2004 and who completed the 2005-06 season with the Hamilton Bulldogs, will also participate in the development camp.
 
The 2006 rookie tournament will take place from September 7-11 at Ricoh Coliseum, in Toronto, and will feature the Canadiens, Florida Panthers and the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Canadiens' main training camp will open on September 14, in Montreal.
