Lapierre assigned to Hamilton
MONTREAL - Canadiens GM Bob Gainey announced Saturday that centre Maxim Lapierre has been assigned to the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League.
The Bulldogs (7-9-0-1) will be playing the third of five straight road games tonight, against the Iowa Stars (5-9-0-0). The Bulldogs lost the first two games of their road trip, including a 3-1 decision at the hands of Omaha, on Friday.
The 20-year-old Lapierre was called up by the Canadiens on November 14. He played his first ever NHL game Nov. 15 against the Florida Panthers at the Bell Centre.
With the Bulldogs this season, Lapierre has collected two goals, five assists and nine penalty minutes in 15 games.
