After raising the Stanley Cup for the first time along with Sidney Crosby and the Penguins last month, Gill wasted no time signing on with the Habs only a few hours into the free agent frenzy on July 1.
With Montreal marking his fourth NHL stop after Boston, Toronto and Pittsburgh, Gill is certainly a sizable addition to the Canadiens’ blue line brigade having now inked a two-year deal. .

As if that wasn’t enough, Gill will take his place in the Habs record book as soon as he slips on his new duds, becoming the biggest player to ever don a Canadiens uniform.
Soon to be forced to look up at Gill, former king-sized Habs Gilles Lupien, Peter Popovic and Ryan O’Byrne will all sit in second place at 6-foot-6. Right behind them will be 6-foot-5, forwards Peter Mahovlich and Gerry Fleming.
